Mia and the Olympics

Hello readers, this is guest-blogger Mia St. Clair! As most of you know, the 2010 Winter Olympics are being held in Vancouver, Canada, and the opening ceremony is tonight! I'm so excited I can barely stand it. I love all the winter sports like hockey, skiing, and snowboarding, but my favorite is the ice skating. I hope to one day make it to the Olympics! Watching the professional skaters really inspires me, and helps with technique, style, etc. I can't wait for the skating portion of the games to begin!

On Wednesday there was a huge snowstorm, and now we have several inches. I know some people don't like the cold or snow, but I absolutely love it. So in the spirit of the winter games, I decided to go out onto the frozen pond and do some skating!
There are a few photos, but it was so cold that I didn't stay out too long.

Knowing how much I love the winter games, Brooke made me a special snowflake necklace. Next to my skates, it's my second most prized possession! You can kinda-sorta see it in the pictures.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the photos. I think they turned out pretty good, especially the close ups. I sure had fun skating! Maybe Avery will let me post more often...

  1. Hehe, same here!
    Canada is so excited! :)

  2. We can't wait to watch the Olympics on TV! And your necklace looks really nice. :) Mia and Eva

  3. Mia, you look beautiful in those photos! Your necklace is lovely, as well.

The Olympics are very exciting! We were talking about them at school to-day. Sonali is really "psyched" (Mari's word) about the snowboarding since she wants to try that.

Do you have any tips for skating for a doll who isn't very good at me? ;)

  4. Yay for the Olympics! :)
You look so pretty in your figure skating dress, Mia. I definitely think you will be in the Olympics some day!

I absolutely love them! I showed them so Mia and she adores them, also. She says that Mia has nice hair ;).

    Have fun watching the Olympics!

  6. Such pretty photos! They are awesome! Mia looks wonderful in the snow.
    Happy Olympics!

  7. Aww, Mia, you look pretty out on the ice! :)
The Winter Olympics are very fun to watch, I agree! I just wish I could go to Vancouver and witness them myself...

  8. Hi Avery, it's Inky! I have a question to ask you, but I don't know your email! Can you PM me on Playthings or else email me? my email is inky dot pavlova at

We had a big snowstorm on Wednesday too- my ballet class got cancelled! Mia looks so pretty ice skating.
